There is a clear and unmistakable nexus between the transit of Jupiter from Taurus to Virgo
and the fight against fascist and authoritarian forces, the defeat of these forces,
and taking matters to a logical conclusion; either through judicial proceedings or otherwise.

I have given three examples:

2. World War II and the the Nuremberg trials, after the conclusion of the the War.
3. The 'Gang of Four' in China , their decline and fall after the death of Mao in 1976, and their subsequent trial in 1980/81.

Jupiter is now in Leo and authoritarian forces of a similar hue, will unravel very
shortly, in a very surprising way.

In this connection there is also a cycle of Saturn also as well as that of Mars, which enables
one to anticipate with some level of accuracy what will happen in the near future.

The establishment of a beachhead at Normandy, by the Allies, resulted in fissures in the
top leadership.

The was an attempt to assassinate Hitler (also known as the ` The July Bomb Plot' )on 20th July 1944 which failed. (Jupiter 5 degrees Leo).

Rommel was implicated in the plot and and Germany's most popular General was forced
to commit suicide on 14th October 1944. Rommel was given a state funeral. His death was
attributed war wounds.


Once Allied forces had established a beachhead in Normandy, they pushed inwards
in the direction of Berlin.

These dates may be linked to the important dates which marked the progression of the
trial at Nuremberg.

The death of Benito Mussolini the Italian fascist dictator occurred on 28th April 1945 when he was summarily executed by anti-fascist Italian partisans. By 1945 he had been reduced to being a leader of a German puppet state in Northern Italy.

Hitler committed suicide on 30th April 1945 two days later.

Mars was in Pisces at 3 degrees (on the 28th at the time of Mussolini's death) and 4 degrees (on the 30th at the time of Adolf Hitler's suicide) aspecting Saturn in Gemini at 13 degree. There was a mutual aspect between these two planets. Jupiter was at 24 degrees Leo.

The transits of Jupiter in the current phase match those in late 1944/1945 during the closing phase of WWII. Jupiter today is at 24 degrees Leo which translates to October 15th 1944, the closing days of the War. There could be an event after about 8 months after Jupiter retrogrades and comes again to about 24 degrees when the War was finally over in May 1945. This period roughly corresponds to July 2016 more so to around 12th/13th July 2016.

The dates in the Cromwell era may differ by a few days due to the difference in the Julian and Gregorian calendar but those of World War II match precisely.

It is not so bad. Jupiter in Leo denotes a propensity but the actual magnitude is decided by the whole planetary grouping especially the placement of Saturn, Mars and Rahu with respect to Jupiter.

Jupiter in Leo generally highlights the penultimate phase, like the closing days of World War II, the dying days of the Protectorate, and the ending phase of Shah's rule in Iran and the crises resulting therefrom.

It denotes failed initiatives, and the dying days of a regime, rule or idea (Nazi ideology etc.).
Here it could also mean the tail end of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria.

Like in 1979 the problem is result of erroneous foreign policy decisions by the Democratic Administration (foreign policy not being their forte) with respect to Syria, allowing troublemakers like the ISIS and Putin to enter the breach.

Obviously the Republican Party which has a wealth of foreign policy talent, will solve the problem when Jupiter moves into Virgo ( like they did in 1980, ) once they get rid of a clown called Donald Trump and choose a proper candidate for the elections to be held next year.

You are right though.

Jupiter which in various houses in a natal chart acts as a conscience keeper, a prayer room, and a moral barometer, can certainly wreck havoc, and at times when in transit, it reminds one of the 11th Chapter of the Bhagvad Gita when Arjuna sees the multifarious and awesome manifestations of God.


Jupiter in Leo has presided over skirmishes, civil wars, world wars, market collapses and even banks going belly up.

The current crises in Syria has a precedent going back about 36 years ago (Three cycles of Jupiter.)

The crises in Iran began way back in 1979 during the latter portion of Jimmy Carter's first term, on the heels of the successful rapprochement between Israel and Egypt, made possible by his active intervention and the historic Camp David accord brilliantly mediated by him.

Iran however proved to be his Waterloo.


The crises began on November 4, 1979 when Iranian students and revolutionaries took over the American Embassy in Teheran and ultimately taking 52 American diplomats and citizens as hostages. (one hostage was released because of illness on July 11, 1980).

The crises lasted for 444 days or 1 year, 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days, was highly publicised
and cost Jimmy Carter his presidency.

Jupiter was at 12 degrees Leo. The Democrats were in power.

4th November 1980 : The Republicans with Ronald Reagan (as President) and George Bush Sr.( as Vice President ) win the elections. ----- Jupiter 7 degrees Virgo.

The crises ended on January 20, 1981 the day the Republicans were sworn in and the hostages released. Jupiter was at 16 degrees Virgo.

During the crises 8 American servicemen were killed in an abortive rescue attempt.

Jupiter is at 25 degrees Leo today.

On the 8th of November 2016 when the United States presidential elections will be held Jupiter will be at 17 degrees Virgo.

On 20th Jan 2017 the next President of the United States will be sworn in. Jupiter will be at 28 degrees Virgo.

The Russian moves in Syria is preceded by another conflict which began during Jupiter's earlier transit of Leo 36 years ago (Three cycles of Jupiter). That was the Russian invasion of Afghanistan which was another foreign policy setback for the President Jimmy Carter. The Russians invaded Afghanistan on 24th December 1979, when Jupiter was at 16 degrees Leo. It lasted for 10 years till 15th February 1989. The invasion had been preceded by the pro Soviet Govt of Nur Mohammed Taraki which had come to power in a coup in 1978.

The invasion slowly degenerated into a long drawn quagmire with the Soviets losing about 14,453 troops and having 53,753 soldiers wounded.

What is of historical interest is the death of Leonid Brezhnev, ( Nov 1982) Andropov (Feb 1984) and Konstantin Chernenko ( March 1985) within 6 years after the onset of the War and the assuming of power by Mikhail Gorbachev as the General Secretary of the Communist Party on 11th March 1985, the eight and last leader of the Soviet Union.

The arc of transit of the major planets, Jupiter,Saturn, Rahu and Mars, are moving to an inflexion point in Syria with protagonists of an earlier War engaged in conflict on another battlefield in different formations and alliances.

What is of astrological interest is the major developments in the Soviet Union in the earlier transit of Saturn in Scorpio, (1985-1987) the change of guard and major and rapid developments in the country through Saturn's movement in Sagittarius and Capricorn.(1989 to 1992).

What is also of significance is the movement of Jupiter in Leo and Virgo (1980/2016) and the change of guard in the US, the hawkish foreign policy stance of the new regime, and ultimate moves at successful rapprochement with the Soviet Union under a new leadership.

Saturn's transit from Libra into Scorpio has coincided with milestone events in the Russia (former Soviet Union).

It marks the end of one phase and the beginning of another.

In the first cycle after the revolution Lenin died on 21st January 1924 ( Saturn 9 degrees Libra).

In the second cycle Stalin died on 5th March 1953 (Saturn 3 degrees Libra) (after suffering a massive stroke on the 1st. ).

In the third cycle Leonid Brezhnev who had been effectively in power from October 1964 died on 10th November 1982 (Sat 4 degrees Libra), Andropov in Feb 1984 (Sat 22 degrees Libra) and in the third cycle Konstantin Cherenko in March 1985 (Saturn 4 degrees Scorpio).

It is in Scorpio that major changes take place in Russia and the trends moves towards a more democratic and open society, away from an insular and repressive regime.

Stalin died on 5th March 1953 after which Nikita Khrushchev took over as the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union on September 14th 1953. The period in between ( March to September) witnessed a period of power struggles with the head of the dreaded Secret Service Beria (who was introduced to U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt by Stalin as "our Himmler". ) jockeying for power. Beria was arrested on June 26th 1953 tried and executed in secret in December 1953.

It was at the 20th Party Congress which opened on February 14, 1956 that Khrushchev formally denounced the repressive regime of Stalin. Saturn was at 8 degrees Scorpio and Jupiter at 3 degrees Leo. These are similar positions which obtain now and there could be major changes in Russia.

Khrushchev was responsible for the de-Stalinization of the Soviet Union, for backing the progress of the early Soviet space program, and for several relatively liberal reforms in areas of domestic policy.

Similiarly it was in 1985 when Saturn was in Scorpio that Mikhail Gorbachev came to power bringing in sweeping changes.

It is worth noting that in both cases there was a Republican Administration in Washington;
Eisenhower in 1956 and Ronald Reagan in 1985.

Jupiter in Leo in 1956 brought Khurschev into prominence who brought about sweeping changes in the Soviet Union.

Jupiter in Leo in 1979 marked the end of one phase and the invasion of Afghanistan a misadventure when rumblings were heard in the satellite countries and within the Soviet Union itself.

. Rahu in Leo has an impact when influenced by Saturn and/or Jupiter. In this case it is a triple impact, though in its previous transits of Leo a double impact produced far reaching influences.

Leo is the fourth house from the Lagna of the Independence Chart. It is in the eighth house from Capricorn and the twelfth from Virgo, both signs associated with India.

On 15.7.1979 when the Janata Party Govt. under the leadership of Shri Morarji Desai fell Rahu was in Leo at 17 degrees in rapt conjunction with Saturn also at 17 degrees. It was transiting over Morarji Desai's Janma Rasi. Charan Singh took over on 28.7.1979. under similar influences but within a few months Indira Gandhi returned to power.

Similarly a snap election held in Feb/March 1998 saw Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee come to power on 19.3.1998 taking over the baton from I.K.Gujral, when Rahu was at 15 degrees Leo aspected by Jupiter from 16 degrees Aquarius.

Again on 17.4.1999 Vajpayee lost a motion of no confidence and headed a caretaker Govt till he won the elections decisively in October 1999 completing his full term.

So Rahu in Leo can be both a destabilizing factor and a bad muhurta as the governments sworn in under its influence don't seem to last.


Transit Rahu is in Leo for only 18 months much before the next elections are scheduled to be held. Its conjunctions with Jupiter and its movements in the degrees similar to those occupied by Saturn should be studied.
