9th and 10th Lords-critical to success& wealth from Career

Hello Shilpaji,

As per the rules mentioned by you from Uttara kaalamritha, i have DKAY. But its happening in the 12th house of losses from 9H and 10H. Does this means there is no hope with regards to career? Following is birth details.

DoB: 24/03/1977
ToB: 8.55 AM + 5.30 GMT
PoB: 77E35, 12N59

--from the 9th house the DKAY is formed whihc means per the UKA...this is a yoga for medium exceutive rise.


--it'a fructification will be limited as Me and Sun both are rather poor in amasabala in higher charts.

--12th house does Taint it......but also implies that the yoga will give it's results with a 12th house flavour such as in a foreign land or related to the professions signified by 12th house.

Dear Shilpa,

Let me ask you this then, how does one attain high status or an executive status.
I think the 9th house sort of keeps people in check due to their "dharma" part of that yoga.

Like, take myself for an example, I want to be successful in this lifetime (i.e., high position, wealthy, fame, etc.,) but, I also like to know the spiritual side of life (which is more 9th house) so I sort of know that this life is not everything, there is more to life than materialism.

Does it make sense?

It sounds weird but I love Astrology, Ayurved, and firmly believe in God.

the 9th and 10th houses if strong and in association through ways as described in the article will give allround success and rise in career.

However a subset of sucess...... is power, position, status, control, leadership...is a key driver in men ( more than in women)...the desire to simply rule over the lives of others

Sun and 10th house are significators......towards the fullfillment of the above human desires
SUN should be strong and well placed in a chart...strong in Shadbala, strong in amsabala and defnitely associated with the 10th house in D1 and/ or D10 charts.
10th house should be strong ( and it gets strong with the placement or Lordship by Sun, followed by Mars).
Mars acst like the king sun and it's asocation with 10th house also gives rise and power.....but offcourse not to the same extent as king himself. many a sports leaders will show you strong Mars and 10th house connections.

Also important for such powe and postion is the ability to control subordinates....with a degree of ruthlessness.
and this comes from the 6th house. After the 10th you need a strong 6th house.....to conquer enemies and control the subordinates/ servants/ employees and generally the associatoon of a strong / ruthless malefic like Saturn, Mars or Rahu is required with the 6th house.

Leaders like Indra Gandhi, KPS Gill known for ruthless conquest of enemies will show you a very high amsabala of Saturn , Mars or Rahu.

This is a fascinating area of study....what makes certain human being rise and gain control over the lives of many others !

I was looking through the post and identified this. Im a leo asccendant and have sat and rahu in 6th house which is the lord and, moon and mars in the 10th house. Is this a good combination? currently i have rahu maha dasha going on (im 22 now) and i dont like the dasha that much till now :/

what setting you used for D10? use standard setting no madam. all planets are going where all. you are using 6-9 - you go back to - start from 9 go foward. that is common setting. ok madam.
in d1 no madam - super yoga is there. you will get job easy. you try madam you put focus means easily you are getting job. - by april 2013 you will get job if put full focus.

My son is having 10th lord jupiter in 7H,9th lord mars in 5H (debilitated), 5th Lord in 4H.
No planets in 10th house.10th lord jupiter is on mercury owned house both in rasi and navamsa.Running is Jup MD and Sun AD. Sun is in 9th house with rahu and mercury.Mercury lord of 4th and 7th house placed in 9th house.

In my Rasi Chart there is no DKAY from lagna (Libra), 9th and 10th house if considered. But still I could get a class one post in central govt of India though I belongs to a middle class farmer family. Can you please explain the same. --for Taurus Asc....shani is the natural YK and forms the natural DKAY..and shani is exalted.

--9th and 10th lord is exalted......and Mars is exalted in the 9th house.

--further shani's as the 10th lord exaltation in the 6th house causes an assocaition beyween the house of service and the house of career/ honors

--Mars with an amzing amsabala of 7 and shani with 4 makes the Yogas very powerful.

--chart of a karmyogi, that with hardwork, discipline, courgae, will rise and rise......perhaps a government services.

--shani's transit throuhg Libra should fructify this yoga especially when shani transits exactly over the natal shani at 6deg which is arounf mid Oct 2012.....and a big jump / peak should occur with the start of Mars anatara starting in March 2013.

--Have faith the chart promises, and will deliver.......starting now peaking in Oct 2012 and then again hitting some highs after March 2013.

Thanks for putting up this thread. However, I have a question.

There are three pairs of planets:
(i) Lord of the ninthand tenth houses from lagna:
(ii) Lord of the ninth and the tenth from the ninth house;
and (iii) lords of these houses from the tenth

I did not understand what you meant by the (iii).

What if there is no mutual aspect, conjunction or exchange between these two lords. What can we conclude from that?

what he is trying to say here is to look at the placement of lords of 9th and the 10th house from the 10th.
i.e assume as if the 10th house was the ascendant and count the 9th and 10th house from it.
check the lords of these houses to see if they are in conjunction, exchnage or mutual kendra (aspect).
If yes....then the case is satisfied for small success.

if association is for all 3 cases...then the strength / intensity of the Yoga is stronger.

association as per UKA is considered to be between planets:

1) Conjunction
2) Mutal Aspect
3) Mutual Kendra from each other

addtionally I have found Parivartana of House Lords to be a strong association.

i haven't found item-3 to be always a association..
