Some Notes on Retrogade and Exchange of Planets

Post by Khoo Hock Leong » 12 Apr 2019

Hi Learned Members

Currently Visti Larsen is considered as the "Sultan of Astrology" in the astrological community. He is held in high esteem by most Indian and Western Vedic Astrologers.

He has some views on Retrogade Planets and Exchange of planets.

Retrogade Planets
-----------------------------

If the planet started retrogading in that bhava, you would experience matters that come under that bhava THREE times in your lifetime, in the sense that each time there is a beginning and an end. Also there is a srnse that the planet is trying to accomplish matters of the prrvious bhava, through the resources of the bhava in which it is placed. It is definitely not placed in the previous bhava.

A planet that is retrogading would be as if it is placed opposite to the sign which it apparently serms to be placed but in that same bhava which it is apparently placed. So my Saturn is rettogading in Capricorn rettogading in the 7th. So it is as if Saturn is in Cancer in the 7th. But my Moon and Ketu is in Capricorn in the 7th. So how to interpret this three planets in the 7th? That is a separate topic but obviously there is an exchange of my Moon and Saturn in the 7th, meaning Moon in Cancer in the 7th and Saturn goes back to Capricorn in the 7th.

Exchange of Planets
---------------------------------

When teo planets exhange, the signs which the planets are placed exchange first, and then the planets. These two are separte discrete events and the 1st event, the digns exchanged, gives the PREDOMINANT effect.

Thus Visti Larsen ha Mercury and Jupiter in Libra in the 12th, Saturn in Scorpio in the 1st, and Venus in Sagittarius in the 2nd.

Venus and Jupiter exchanges but the initial signs they are placed exchanged first, and this would ve the predominant effdct. He hus would hsve Venus and Mercury in Libra in the 2nd and Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 12th - yes, Mercury the bystander in the exchange, gets shifted to the 2nd as well with its initial placement sign, Libra, brought over to the 3nd as well.

Best Regards

@khoo sir

To try to understand your point, let's say mercury and Jupiter are exchanging signs. Jupiter in 1st in virgo and mercury (retro) with sun in sagittarius in 4th. So, per this Jupiter behaves like it is in 4th in sagittarius? And mercury and sun like in virgo in 1st? What houses do retro mercury influence at this point?

Thank you.
