What is your Guna?

Post by hari766 » 11 Mar 2019

I found the below slokam in the text Jaatakaabharanam.

Satvam Bhaveyuh Sasisuryajiva-
sthamo yamarau cha rajojnasukrau
trimsallave yasya gato dinesho
vachyo gunastasya khagasya noonam

Surya, Chandra and Guru are of Sattva Guna, Budha and Sukra are of Rajasa Guna, while Sani and Kuja are of Tamasic Guna. A person will have the Gunas of that Graha which is the dispositor of Surya in Trimsamsa.

Thus, by finding out the position of Surya in Trimsamsa of a person, we can see the predominant Guna in his nature.

Dear Hari, FYI Luminaries doesn't own any Trimsamsa's. So, what if Sun placed in Leo or in Cancer in D-30? Who is the dispositor?

dear joyd Ji, I've Vargottama Ketu-Rahu in devalokamsa. Ketu in 4th house in D-1 in Pisces. Same Ketu in D-9 in Pisces. No Graha aspects on Ketu both in D-1 & in D-9. Just it has Rashi aspect. Now what can we say? Pisces contains Sattva. Ketu...

why not "just" ? you have any other doubts on ketus vargottama in your chart?

If any planet is placed in Vargottama Rashi, All characteristics of that planet are seen in the native due to blessings of deity related to the Rashi. In your case pisces under deity shiva.so what are the main characteristics of shiva?Grace, tapasya, inner vision.so your ketu under the guidance o f shiva that too in devalokamsham. What this word denotes to us?such ketu is very strong intuitive in mind.your Rahu gives Power to break all boundaries in spirituality matters.Ketu in return gives liberation without any spiritual practices.one may appears as strong materialist to outer world but innerly the person has his own spiritual agendas. From D9 lagna the 4th pisces is moksha sign.so ketu has to drive you towards it with certainty. If Rahu in 10th, of D9 lagna will have effect of moon. Inclined towards luxuries, enjoyment and songs during rahu period, travelling for satwa & have pilgrimages. For D9 sagittarius lagna , moons house cancer is again a moksha sign.so as 8th lord of D9, Moon strongly injects the thoughts of spirituality during ketu pereoids. Not only that here Rahu's play is very important one.Rahu In d9, 10th means ,it is ardha sign[virgo].so rahu breaks all boundaries for natives self enjoyments. From cancer the virgo is the 3 rd upachaya house of abundance vruddhi[development both financially & bodily].so both will be in abundance due to moons influence.Growth has a limit point.Until certain point it will gives growth and then start to diminish /fall.THis will be done by ketu in pisces.Ketu detaches natives wealth and bodily comforts and make you drive towards what ketu wants to drive you.Being a fiery natured planet ketu lost his fiery gunas in a watery sign pisces.so you can confidently say that ketu is in satwa in pisces sign in 4th from D9 lagna,in your case.Hope you are clear now.

Vivid explanation! :)
Anyway I take your analysis assuming Rasi tulya Navamsha. Because my Ascendant in D-9 is different. That Ascendant is only in D-1
Thanks
