The Exaltation Thrones of the Planets - The Cross of Vishnu

Post by Khoo Hock Leong » 12 Nov 2018

Hi Learned Members

The planetary exaltation places are :

Saturn for Libra
Rahu in Taurus
Ketu in Scorpio
Jupiter in Cancer
Mars in Capricorn
Venus in Pisces
Mercury in Virgo
Moon in Taurus and
Sun in Aires

This cross which I call The Vishnu Cross has several interesting points which I will enumerate in this thread.

Point (1)

Only 1 grand cross exists and that is formed by the Sun, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter. They are the official law makers and set the pace of dharma, and for Saturn, karma. Dharma can override karma.

Mercury whose deity is Visnu, essentially evolve from the Sun, who stands for the immanent presence of higher Vishnu. However, praying to Mercury, enables one to use logic and set the path to devotional worship, so that we can stand apart from the soul, a kind of separate existence if merging into Vishnu's light and energy is not your option.

Venuse is basically trying to encourage us to give up materiality and passion of the world, so that we can merge with the soul (the Sun).

Rahu creates karma and Ketu reaps them. Jupiter makes the experience of the karma generated, more palatable, prolonging it if necessary, until we learn our lesson. It may take away the karma if you get guru's grace. It sustains life until the person is ready for moksha.

Point (1) Still

Moon is also outside of the grand cross since Moon has to do with our mind, emotions, desires and their fulfillment. How can Moon be part of the Grand Cross given what I hsve just said?

Point (2)

The oppositions show the balance between each planet in the opposition's exaltation and debilitation elements. So it counterscts evil dince each planet's energy in the opposition would not go awry.

Moon, Rahu and Ketu form 1 group. This groip shows how the mind can expand and think big, or contract and think deep. Expansion of Rahu and Contraction of Ketu also keep a proper check on things.

Sun and Saturn another group showing different leadership styles

Mercury and Venus shows the need to be analytical is paramount for mundane affairs, but let's not forget we also need to be people-oriented so that things can ride off smoothly in their settlement by us. This gtoup is concerned with the lower view of issues.

Mars and Jupiter is another group showing that sound policies must be set, but they also need to be enforced. This group is concerned with the higher view of issues.

Point (3)

The trines represent the group of planets which can accomplish much together, provided they are not afflicted.

Mars, Mercury, Moon and Rahu exults in the Earth element. Together they can move the economy ahead with their vision, action and energy, thoughts and logic.

Sun stands alone in the fire element representing dharma. When groups form, dharma usually break down. That is why the scriptures advise us to be alone when seeking spiritual goals OR be with people who are religiously fervent, ehich they are all represented by the sun anyway.

Saturn too stands alone in the air element showing that relationships can only move forward whrn we abide strictly by the rules of give and take and not to harm others.

Venus, Jupiter and Ketu unites the three water signs through their teachings snd holy ways.

Point (4)

The male planet Sun (Vishnu or Shiva) ) is flanked by Venus on his left and Moon + Rahu on his right.

Venus is our right side of the brain sitting on our left side. Venus is Lakshmi representing all the fine arts snd our grace in handling others. Rahu is our left side of the brain sitting on our right side. Rahu represents conscious knowledge can be organised to be done in a big, useful way for society. Rahu is Saraswati.

Moon is Parvarti, representing the domesticated mother or eife who feeds us.

Saturn the male hermaphrodite has Mercury sitting on its left, the female hermaphrodite. Saturn reprsents the consummation of marriage or making a living (in olden times, most jobs are business jobs as represented by Libra, the 7th sign). It lets Mercury handle the preparation of the workbench, then Saturn takes over to ensure the finished manufactured goods are brought to the bazaar where they will be bought at a fair price. The next sign (Scorpio) sits Ketu, the true hermaphrodite, incorporating the mixed caste. Once the goods are sold, the profits are garnered, then fusion with the mate can take place or the person can use the profits to sustain himself by buying goods that help him to live - Scorpio the 8th sign is 7th to the 2nd of basic necessities, meaning the inflow of necessities.

Venus sits on Pisces which brige the masses living in a luxuriant lifestyle (Aquarius), where everyone conforms to group norms so that they can get a larger share of yhe goods disttibuted to the group, to Aires, representing our individuality where the soil (Sun) is exalted. This shows thatVenus keeps giving us re-birth, until we are willing to give up the luxuries and goods given by Aquarius, in which case we gain moksha in Pidces, without hsving to re-born into a new body again. But scriptures tend to emphasise more of Ketu in 12th (Pisces) as giving moksha rather than Venus. But Ketu exalts in Scorpio which is 9th to Pisces, where Scorpio is like the mystic river thst bridges the mundane life of Librs to the divine realm of Sagittarius. So Ketu in Pisces does give moksha, but for those wgo wish to seek a higher release from re-birt, look to Ketu (Ganesha) or Mercury (Krishna) as Virgo where Mercury is exalted id also the 10th sign from Sagittarius ie. the karma of the divine spirits, meaning if you pray to Krishna, most likely you were actually a divine spirit, before you came down to Earth.

Ketu rules Magha, the Nakshatra whose fortune ties us with our forefathers. Prayer to Ketu helps us to cross the mystic river by appeasing our forefathers.

So three roues possible for moksha : ketu, mercury and venus.

Jupiter exalted in Cancer leads us from the expansion of consciousness of krishna (the 3rd as represented by Gemini which is 6th to the 10th), to the 5th house of the soul. Jupiter prepares ud to be in touch with our soul as a pre-requisite of moksha.

Point (4) Still

Mars is exalted in Capricorn. It bridges Sagittarius, the sign of law, see that it is not broken in Capricorn, so that everyone benefits in Aquarous. The debsuchery in Aquarius is never as serious as crimes committed in Capricorn, like Commercial Law, Labour Law and Environmental Protection.

Moon is exalted in Taurus. It bridges from the individual soul of Aires to the next sign of Gemini of initiative. Your domestication at the homefront must be stabilised before you can venture. That is why Shiva went to look for Parvati and the latter became Gauri to cook for him.

Rahu is the same thing like the Moon except it is the higher mind of Saraswat of vision, knowledge and to keep the boundaries intact for the benefit of everyonei. Like Durga also, the mind can scheme and plot. In Taurus, Rahu csn plan to its heart content as all the resources are at his disposal.

Mercury is exalted in Virgo. It gets a piece of the Sun through the previou sign Leo (this is ruled by the Sun, so a connotation of physicality is involved unlike Aires where the Sun is exalted), rework it in Virgo for use in mundane life in Libra.

Point (5)

The sign in which the planet is exalted means that planet has a secret pact with the planetary ruler of that dign, so that that planet can gain some benefits.

Mars has a pact with Saturn for provision of armory and for covert help during military operations or criminal investigations.

Jupiter has a pact with the Moon for the provision of a cleansed mind fit for receiving spiritual precepts.

Moon has a pact with Venus for the provision of an environment, suitable for the execution of mundane chores.

Rahu has a pact with Venus, to ptovide the influx of money (Lakshmi) so that Rahu (Kubera) can multiply it.

Ketu ha a pact with Mars to provide it with feeback on the ground, on how the laws can be changed.

Sun has a pact with Mars, to provide it with information on how well his subjects are doing and any dharma broken.

Venus has a pact with Jupiter on the spiritual laws that enable Venus to bridge them with the material laws that Venus enacts.

Mercury has a pact only with itself, because it tries to attend to all the details.

Saturn has a pact with Venus to provide the structure of the bazaar and the haggling procedures so that it can ensure the laws of balance operate effectively, so that no one is unfairly taken advantage of.

Point (6)

This is the most interesting point and it relates to the Nakshatras ruled by the planet B  that is also the ruler of the sign which the planet A is exalted in. So what happens if planet A is placed in these Nakshatras.

Moon is well placed in Bharani, Poorva Phalguni and Poorva Ashada where Venus rules. Venus is also the ruler of Taurus where Moon is exalted.

These are the latter parts of fire signs where the fire is blazing but also dying down. Moon locked with Venus, and much steam is generated, which basically is healthy enough in its own manner to be able to cook food healthily. Steam opens up pores and soothes dry skin. Venus ensure that the water source has a high mineral content, which is further beneficial to the body.

Rahu, similarly like Moon, is well placed in the said Nakshatras.

The double air element of Rahu stokes the fire to endure that the water bubbles faster so that a purer steam is given off. Metaphorically, this means great ideas are generated in a spontaneous manner.

Sun is well placed in Mars Nakshatras of Dhsnista, Chitra and Mrigha. Mars also rules Aires where Sun is exalted.

These Nakshatras padas are split between the previous last two parts of the previous Earth sign and the first two parts of the next Air sign.

Sun together with Mars in the background, ensures the decaying Earth (last parts of the Earth sign) is burnt in a controlled manner, to generate dried air, where each particle in the ai would absorb all the moisture surroundinh it and coalesce into big water droplets as a further precursor later on (the last few padas of the Air Sig) to form rain. Metaphorically, these Nakshatras have the ability to gather their thoughts, as a precursor to forming more concrete and bigger ideas.

Venus is well placed in Jupiter Nakshatras of Poornavasu, Vishakha and Poorva Bhadrapada. Jupiter also rules Pisces where Venus is exalted.

These Nakshatras' padas, three parts are found in the last part of the previous Air Sign and the 1st part of the current Water Sign. From the last phases of the ether space of the cosmos, knowledge and canons of law are formulated, as represented by the guru planets of Jupiter and Venus, to form the initiation of water, signs when life begins.

Point (6) Still

Juipter does well in Moon's Nakshatra of Rohini, Hasta and Shravana. Moon is also the ruler of Cancer where Jupiter is exalted.

These Nakshatras are in the middle of Earth signs. Earth signs are householder signs and Jupiter is a reincarnation of Shiva to help mankind sustain life by being a householder, yet still obeying the spiritual excerpts. As always, Shiva always do better with Parvarti (or Gauri) at hand to help him.

Mars does well in Nakshatras of Pushya, Anuradha and Uttara Bhadrapada. These nakshatras are ruled by Saturn, and Saturn is also the ruler of Capricorn where Mars is exalted.

These nakshareas are in water signs and generslly Mars does better in fire signs (evrn Scorpio).

But when it sits in the nakshatra of Satutn, Vayu, Hanuman's father, lifts him up, so that he is able to float on water. This means Mars is not hampered when placed in these Nakshatras.

Mercury does very well when posited in his own Nakshatras of Alesha, Jyestha and Revati.

Mecury both rules and is exalted in Virgo.

Alesha denotes embrace, Jyestha denotes the eldest sister and Revati is prodperous. Mercury in these nakshatras denote love, care and wealth (which can include spiritual wealth) respectively. Mercury being of the earth elemeny, is at home in water signs. These are also the last parts of the water signs where water is going back to the sky - an indication of Mercury's function to keep the water cyvle going. Mercury is Vishnu, the maintainer of thr Universe.

Saturn does very well in Venus nakshatras of Bharani, Poorva Phalguni and Poorva Ashada. These are all fierce nakshatras but they seek prosperity in the truest sense of the word, and Saturn adds his contribution by providing the extra hard work. Venus rules Libra where Saturn is exalted.

They are all in fire signs which Saturn helps to stoke the fire. But Saturn is not at home with fie signs thirst for sctivity. Venus influencr thus provide the necessary balance while Saturn provides the check (like Satutn in Libra).

Ketu does very well in Nakshatras ruled by himsrlf snd by Mars. Both share the joint rulership of Scorpio where Ketu is slso exalted.

Mars Nakshatras are dhanista, chitra and mrigra. As discussed under the Sun section earlier on, these nakshatras are split rvenly between the last part of the earth sign and the first part of the air sign.

However, in this case the meaning of its interpretation for ketu is different from that for the Sun. Here ketu insists that we give up material things as signified by the earth element, to get in touch with our soul, the fire element.

Ketu's ow nakshatras are ashvini, magha and.moola. These are all the initial parts of the fire sign whichdignifies the pure soul whrn ketu has just taken back all the past karmas, in preparation for the next life or moksha, as the case may be.

Point (9)

Whatever that has been said about Point (8) about the various planets in various nakshatras ruled by their exaltation sign ruler, replace that planet with the functional ruler of a bhava of which that planet is a karska. The dictum still holds true.

So, for example, my Moon is my Lagnesh, so it is somewhat like the Sun since Sun is the main karaka of the 1st. Thus my Moon in Dhanista ruled by Mars is like the Sun in Mars nakshatra under Point (8), so according to Point (8) , Sun in Mars nakshatras like to generste ideas.

Mars ruling 10th so it is somewhat like Saturn ruling hard work and career. My Mars is in Venus nakshatra of bharani. So again Point (8) applies. I tend to wotk very hard to gain prosperity. Venus plus the pseudo-Saturn (Mars ruling 10th) tend to give me some thoughts about career and work matters and not rush things through.
