One Way the Navamsa Can be Integrated into the Rasi

Post by Khoo Hock Leong » 15 May 2009

Hi

There are many ways to use the Navamsa. But one way to directly integrate the effects of Navamsa onto the Rasi is described in the following scenario :

Suppose planet A disposits planet B via sign rulership (actually we can use nakshatra rulership for this first pair as well but we want to make the scenario more general). Planet C disposits planet D via nakshatra rulership. Planet B rules the 5th house in th Rasi and planet D rules the 9th house in the Rasi. Also planet A and planet C are both placed together in a house, say the 1st house ie. Lagna.

If planet B is in its nakshatra pada ruled by itself and similarly planet D is in its nakshatra pada ruled by itself (this means planet B and planet D are in its own sign in the Navamsa), and in the Navamsa both planet B and planet D rules the 9th and 5th house respectively (yes we do a switch to make the case more general otherwise both Navamsa and Rasi would be Vargottama), we can safely say that the Lagna in the Rasi carries with it the dharma effects of the 5th and 9h house more strongly than is the case for simple sign rulership of planet A on planet B or simple nakshatra rulership of planet C on planet D.

Of course the best bet would be to have planet B and planet D in Lagna itself but now we are talking when we can't obtain this option, the next best thing would be the above scenario.

Thanks.

Concise Summary

Post by Khoo Hock Leong » 15 May 2009

Hi

For the benefit of the learners in this forum, what the above is trying to say is that :

(1) For any planet situated in the Bhava of the Rasi, it would bring in its effects of :

(a) The Bhava which it is placed in the Navamsa.

(b) The Bhavas which it rules in the Navamsa.

ono the Bhava in which it is placed in the Rasi.

(2) The same principle applies to the planet that is in the sign or nakshatra ruled by the planet in (1). This second planet, call it (2), would also bring in the effects of :

(a) The Bhava which planet (2) is placed in the Navamsa.

(b) The Bhavas which planet (2) rules in the Navamsa.

onto the Bhava in which planet (1) is placed.

Thanks.

Hi,

The Rasi-Tulya-Navamsa method is one way of integrating the navamsa into the rasi chart.

Hi,

An example of Rasi Tulya Navamsa is as follows.

For Virgo ascendant, suppose Sun is in Pisces which is the 7th house, then it may be predicted that Sun is in the house signifying spouse and therefore there may be some friction with regard to married life or spouse, etc.

However, in this example if Sun is also in Sagittarius in navamsa chart, then it is in the fourth house counted from Virgo (which is the ascendant in main rasi chart). The 4th house represents sukha and therefore, Sun is said to be in sukha-amsa (sukhaamsayuktah).

Being in sukha-amsa or the navamsa division of happiness (within the 7th house of spouse), the friction because of Sun's placement in 7th house is said to be mitigated.

This is how one may use rasi-tulya-navamsa method to fine-tune the general prediction of the main rasi chart.
