Which signifcance(s) of 5H will be illustrious or afflicted?

Post by DhoomDhoom » 23 Dec 2013

5th house, like any other house in a horoscope, determines more than one significance in a person's life: primary education, love relationships and progeny matters. It is rarely seen that a person has been superbly successful or a total failure in ALL these 3 matters of 5th house: primary education, love relationship and progeny matters.

For example, in older days (even now in some rural areas) girls used to get married-off at a young age. Most of them neither received primary education nor had any love relationship, but subject to early marriage they became mothers of several children. For them some matters of 5th house (like primary education, love relationship) never showed their color, whereas another area of 5H got immensely pronounced (progeny matters).

Even amongst my friends, colleagues and neighbours I have seen varied effects of 5H for the SAME person - some are highly qualified, employed, married (love marriage), but reluctant or unable to become parents; some others had to struggle a lot before they got blessed with a child although they easily succeeded in acquiring a good academic life and love-marriage; whereas some lucky ones have attained ALL the aforesaid significances of 5H very very easily.

I would like to know how do astrologers distinguish which native would attain/denied which significance of 5H? How to predict that a person although experienced a good academic life, might not be successful w.r.t. progeny matters or might be disappointed in love matters? Is it possible at all to clearly differentiate the fructifications of varied significances of the same house to a native?

Dear Dhoom Dhoom

You have asked a very pertinent question.

Not only the house from the Ascendent, but it is equally important to check from karaka - for example, Jupiter mainly & secondary Sun for Progeny, Jupiter & merc for education. Then, the nature of the planet posited in the 5th ....for example mercury or jupiter in 5th will grant good education, but can prove troublesome in terms of progeny. Same goes for Mars. Saturn on the other hand generally proves troublesome in all aspects, unless beneficially disposed. Similar calculations need to be done from ChandraLagna.

For romance related areas, ChandraLagna along with Venus rather than Jupiter comes into play, in addition to basic Ascendent related study. Jupiter comes in late.....to bless the marriage if it is so deemed :)

For progeny related calculations, one can also see Beeja -sphuta and Kshetra sphuta which indicate the fertility of male and female concerned.

@Dhoomdhoom : Every house has gross aspect &subtle aspect. 5th house denotes many things as other houses.
The gross aspect is progeny & subtle aspect is native's intelligence. For routine school/college education
4th house/9th ,with 3rd house indicates mental inclination to study particular subject/2nd is also taken
for fluency in languages/with relevant dasa bhukthis.

How can Jupiter in 5th prove troublesome for progeny? Jupiter is the karaka for children, right?
And what if Mars is 5L in 5H or aspecting 5H? Will Mars still be malefic for progeny?

I have gone through the thread http://www.lightonvedicastrology.com/ph ... ja#p153464 regarding Beeja -sphuta and Kshetra sphuta.......Somehow couldn't be very convincing with the logic. I came across quite some women (including myself) who are supposed to have good fertility as per Kshetra-Sphuta calculations, but in reality they encountered scores of gynaecological problems and deformities which had delayed/denied conception. On the other hand, many males scoring "low fertility" as per Beeja Sphutha calculation didn't show-up any abnormality in their semen analysis report. Speaking purely from medical statistics, percentage of male-infertility is much much lesser than female-infertility throughout the world. More often than not, a couple is denied parenthood due to wife's infertility, not husband's.

In such a scenario is it really possible to analyze/predict reproductive fitness or denial/approval of progeny from birth details? Or should one go by the general formula "Younger the lady is, higher is her chance of conception and successful delivery"? Is motherhood totally age-driven or a strong 5H of a lady can override time and grant her offspring in advanced age?........ If yes, to what extent? When should an astrologer advice a lady "Ma'am, you are well past your timeframe of conception. Strong 5H can give you/have given you good education, but it might not fructify all significances of 5H including children. You should now surrender your aspiration of motherhood"??
