Respected Shrikanth ji

If I am checking My own chart
16 Sept'1975, 02.14.30 AM, Devprayag, Tehri Garhwal Uttrakhand, India.(30N15 78E36)

1) LL-8th Lord: Moon in Mov (Makar); Jup in Dual (Pieces) - Result is Short
2) Moon-Sat: Moon in Mov (Makar); Saturn in Mov (Kark) - Result is Long
3) ASC-HL: Asc in Mov (Kark) Long; HL in Fixed (Taurus) Fixed - Result is Medium

Three pair combination is Short + Long + Medium = dissimilar -- Then using Moon-Sat Method in my case because Moon in 7th or ASC-HL Indicator ? Please clerify.

1) Moon is in the 7th - Final is Moon-Sat Indicator - Result is Long
2) Else Use The ASC-HL Indicator = Result is Medium

Yes - your application of the rules is correct.
Your longevity indicator is Long (using Moon-Sat indicator since Moon is in 7th)

It is advisable to apply these rules and see how they work intricately well in charts of the deceased (people who have passed away).

Shrikanth

Excellent article Shrikanthji.

Here is one example I tried & I am sure I missed something....
--भज गोविन्दं... भज गोविन्दं...गोविन्दं भज, मूढमते --

Shrikanth ji,

I assume you will also be writing about other methods (ayurdaya/ashtakavarga etc.). While this method gives a broad range, other methods are supposed to give much finer estimates. I also assume that both type of methods are as correct/flawed as much as our current understanding of Jyothish can be. Given this background, what can be the relevance of using this method? Are there any specific set of natal chart positions that give superior results with one method as against the other?

Dear shrikanthji,

I checked the longetivity in my wife's case. But i m confused. I checked , it comes short+long+short. So is it short life indicates in this case? But here Moon is exalted in lagna and lagna lord placed in 8th and 8th lord exchanges with 6th lord. So will this not give long life? Nakshatra is not accountable for our longetivity of life??

Following is data of my wife. Kindly check, this is cofusing me.

13th November 1981, 18:11, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

september 19 1932 ......5-15pm ...Vijayawada ......these r my grandpa's details ....

Step -1 Result = Movable == LONG
Asclord in virgo --dual
8thlord in leo - fixed

Step -2 Result =Long
Moon -movable aries
Saturn - movable capricorn

Step3- Result fixed short
HL-leo -fixed
Lagna--leo fixed

LONG+LONG+short === LONGG ( currently 79....and still Batting :) )

Awesome Theory ...thanks Shrikanth ji ....

In Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao's chart ...comes out as ...LONG+ SHort+LOng ..... died in his 73th year I guess ...
details are ..May-28 1923 16-23 hrs ...Gudivada India ...( Taken from KNrao's book ...Ups&Downs in career)

So how does the SHort life indication work ...?? Mt grandpa ....79 not out ...NTR 73 out ....both got ...LONG+LONG+SHort .... so does the rest depend on the dasa periods ?

Dear Shrikanth,

First of all thanks for writing such an interesting and to the point article. It is written in very simpel language, which makes it very accessible even for novices like me.

I have one 1question though, for the signs Aquarius and Scorpio who have dual-lordship, how do you know which Lord you should take into consideration when calculating?

Shrikanth Ji,

my lagna asc is scorpio fixed
8th from table sg is dual
fixed + dual = long

moon in scorpio is fixed
saturn in virgo is dual
fixed + dual = long

Asc & Hora lagna both in scorpio fixed
fixed + fixed = short

long,long,short means long
please correct me, if wrong

The rule may be true, reason being lucky in accidents

ferrari

Dear Shrikanth sir,

What if step 1 and step 2 are the same? i.e. lagna lord is Moon and then 8th lord is Saturn. Then do i have to consider that as one step or 2 separate steps?

Thank you

A few more examples... (Worked for the last two, but not for the first two).

Steve Jobs:
February 24, 1955 19:15 San Francisco
1&8 lord: Fixed, Dual = Long
Moon & Sat = Dual,Movable = Short
Asc & Hora = Fixed, Fixed = Short

So Assement: short, Acutal: Medium.

Rajiv Gandhi:
20-August-1944, 06:34am, Bombay
1&8th lord = Fixed, Fixed = short
Mon & Sat = Fixed, Dual = long
Asc & HL = Fixed, Fixed = short

Assesment: short, Actual: Medium

Swami Vivekanada:
1&8th lord = Movable,Dual = short
Mon & Sat = Dual, Dual = Medium
Asc & HL = Dual, Dual = Medium

Assesment: Medium, Actual: Medium

Aurobindo Gosh:
1&8th lord = Dual, Movable : Short
Moon, Saturn = Dual, Dual : Medium
Asc & HL: Movable, Movable = Long

Assesment: Long, Actual: Long.
