Hi Learned Members

Next insight .................

The concept of enemies in Vedic Astrology can be just as confusing as the concept of foreign travel which I have described a few posts earlier.

For a first cut on how to read enemies in an individual's chart, look at B V Ramana's post in another section.

6th house is the house of enemies per se. But if Mars is there it gives the defeat of enemies. Mercury also gives defeat of enemies but in an intelligent manner though there may be some retailiation on oneself if Mercury is not strong enough. Sun gives victory over enemies.

7th house is the house of victory and war per se and is especially powerful if a malefic sign is overlaid there or malefic planets like Mars, Ketu and Sun are there. If a common lordship exists between the 7th and the 8th, it gives inner grit in fighting. If a common lordship exists between the 7th and the 10th, it gives accomplishments in fighting.

3rd house is the house of might especially if Mars is assoicated with it and Mars also gives war if placed there. The lord of the 7th going to the 3rd, it gives power and if 3rd lord goes to the 7th, the person is definitely very unmerciful in making sure the enemies get destroyed.

11th house is the future of the house of 7th and gives a permanent state of victory.

12th house is the opposite of house 6th and rules secret enemies and if the lord is strong especially if placed in its own sign in the 12th, it means enemies kept permanently in chains - they are still cursing you under their breadth but they are under fetters. if 12th house is very strong, you can start a new life (the ascendant) but if not strong, the past would catch up with you.

11th being the 6th of the 6th and 12th of the 12th thus also rules war and gives a decisive victory over your enemies if not afflicted - decisive victory is equivalent to a permanent state of victory as mentioned above.

4th house represents the king and if strong, the person can never be defeated even though the enemies may be roaming all over the place. In fact if the 6th lord goes to the 4th, the Jataka is able to make use of the enemies to his own advantage in building his kingdom - that is the interpretation. 4th house if VERY STRONG, can also sound a death kneal to the enemies - the enmies are incorporated into your kingdom.

5th house is the knowledge of the king used in avoiding strife with enemies - 5th is the 12th to the 6th. 3rd is the backup military forces of the king and if strong, the king (4th house) may never need to go to war unless the 3rd lord goes to the 7th.

The 8th house if very strong can mean a total breakup of the fortress of your enemy with the commander in chief being captured.

And of course Lagna is the physical body and basic intelligence of the Jataka incorporating a little bit also of each house in the chart. Wherever the Lagna Lord is placed including those houses mentioned above and below and the Lagna itself, extra effort and energy is expended to ensure the success of the house and in the context of the discussion here, energy expended to do battle in the battlefield or behind the scenes, but whether success is reached would depend on whether the Lagna Lord is afflicted.

2nd house is the family members and material resources of the Jataka and can contribute much to shielding the Jataka from direct injury and also gives the Jataka food, energy and clothings to shield from one's enemy. This is different from the 4th house where the protection is to the kingdom of the Jataka.

10th in many ways if strong gives leadership in the battlefield because Mars and Sun are digbala here and Mercury is also the karaka here denoting intelligence in the battlefield.

That leaves the 9th house. The 9th house has the least to do with battles but it has its part. It is the 4th to the 6tth so it contributes in some ways how the king wants to defeat the enemies - to have the enemy country razed to the ground or to give them some breathing space in the ensuing victory, if any, like expatriating the enemies to the borders.

Hi

Previously I have talked about the rise of Vedic Astrology in this Aquarian Age. Let me give you a complete picture of the religons of the world from the Astrological point of view. The Ages I am talking about is based on Tropical Signs (ages always refer to Tropical Signs as these signs show more clearly the existing trends of a society at a particular moment of time).

When Christ died the Piscean began. A lot of superstition like hunting witches etc. began. Pisces is generally a woollish sign, seeped in its own mysticism and is the sign least likely to have material progress in a concerted effort although Jupiter does grant it relief through charities, alms and unexpected winfalls.

So from 0 AD up to about 1890 (where Neptune conjunct Pluto) it was the Piscean Age (actually the Ages merge into the next one graudally. I demarcate them for conveninece of exposition. Neptune conjunct Pluto which sets the Zeitgeist at a particular time is a good marking epoch).

So from 0 AD to 1890 progress was limited although there were peaks here and there like the Reformation, 19th century scientific breakthroughs etc.

After 1890, scientific progress grows by leaps and bounds, as we approach the Aquarian Age of the 21st century. (In fact some astrologers believe the proper Aquarian Age would not occur until another 200-300 years or so).

Pisces rules Christianity and the last portion of Pisces rules the Muslim religion. The opposite sign Virgo which always operate in the background rules Catholicism and because it is not the main religion, it is considered a cult by the Christians (Catholics would beg to differ).

As we approach the Aquarian Age, Hinduism gain Ascendancy because the Vedas and India as a whole is ruled by Saturn. Aquarius grants material prosperity to the world (the 11th house) but since Saturn rules it, Hindi (Vedic) Astrology flourishes. Christianity would hence be on the decline.

Opposite Aquarius is Leo. So again a background influence of Leo crops up like creativity is stressed in the workplace, working from home, do it yourself health guide promoting mental peace (5th house rules joy unlike 4th house which rules happiness) etc.

Buddhism would always remain in the background. It is ruled by Venus. Since Venus and saturn are best friends, Buddhism also stresses re-birth. The difference is that in Buddhism, your re-birth would be better if you do good deeds in this current lifetime. Hinduism on the other hand mentioned your re-birth would be better if you accummulate more good karma, including good karma created in this current lifetime (6th house rules pending karma from this current lifetime).

The age of Taurus has already passed us. Taurus repreents Buddhism and Taurus as a sign governs extreme wealth and poverty (or alms seeking to use another word).

Note that Aquarius is ruled by Rahu and most of the true Vedas would not really be guaged by the West since Vedas as a whole is ruled by Ketu. Rahu is however a good imitator, learner and is teachable.

Now Aquarian Age would last 2000+ years followed by Capricorn another 2000+ years and then the Sagittarian Age would dawn upon us whereapon all true Christians would rise up from the dead and share the bridal feast with the Christian God. These are the few that would be exempted from all the re-births.

So Christianity on the decline actually has already been predicted in the Bible in the Book of Revelations.

In Singapore there are many Indians who are Christians. There are also Indians who are Christians in India.

These are the ones who would be exempted from re-birth once they die and await Christ to uplift them from the dead when the Sagittarian Age sets in 4000+ years from now.

Of course we are talking about true Christians which have very strict requirements regarding whom can be saved and exempted from re-birth. But of course those who practise Vedic Astrology would definitely not be the ones to enter into God's grace.

This is how life is. You cannot have it both ways.

Some clarification on the things ruled by Ketu and Saturn.

Ketu like I said rules the Vedas that governs right behaviour. Saturn, however, rules the knowledge of our forefathers, I think the term is Jnatha. And since India as a whole is also ruled by Saturn, overall Saturn rules all the knowledge in India. But Ketu specifically rules the Vedas.

Rahu rules foreigners, broadcasting of knowledge overseas etc. So Westerners are very interested in Astrology since now we are in the Aquarian Age ruled by Saturn and Rahu.

The true knowledge of the Vedas in detail however lies with Ketu. But currently we are not in the age of Scorpio or sagittarius. so the details of the Vedas are still hidden from us.

Everlasting life is promised by the sign Pisces. But it is only in Sagittarius that we can be with God, the God sign.

Another thing why Christians call this The Last Days is because the Piscean Age is precisely passing us by. Once the remants of the Piscean Age is no more with us, even you repent at that time, you can no more be saved. So the first step is towards the repentance.

Hi

Some clarification .........

When I first joined the forum, I delineated the 10th of Moon as "Taste for Public Life". Nina confirmed that she is quite a private person based on this delineation. She does not like the limelight. It confirmed the delineation. Ann confirmed that she was in the limelight performing a ballet. This partially confirmed the delineation in the sense that you would not go for such activity if you do not have a liking for trying of such activity in the first place.

Then one forum member says that 10th of Moon stands for "Experience in Public Life". This would then fully explained Ann's experience.

Jataka Rajeeyam said that :

10th of Moon gives Leading Public Life.

What this means is that 10th of Moon denotes how you lead the public life. I would interpret how you lead your public life is equivalent to your taste+experience.

Somehow spiritual forces seem to be always at my side in resolving questions pertaining to Vedic Astrology.

Hi

Now that Meryl Streep has won her 3rd Oscar let's have a look on her D-11 chart.

Her exact birth details are :

June 22nd 1949
805 am
Time Zone 5 h West
74 degrees 15 minutes West
39 degrees 59 minutes North

Looking at her D-11 chart, the most striking feature is the exchange betwen the Sun in the 9th house and Mars in the 1st house in congenial signs. This is very good - exchange between Lagna and the best house in the chart, the 9th. It conduces to luck and fortune which is why she get all the meaty roles. Sun and Mars are also trinal lords. Rahu with Sun only add to the powerful effect of the exchange.

Jupiter another trinal lord is in the 2nd, situated just next to the Ascendant. Mercury ruling both the wealth giving houses of the 2nd and the 11th is with Jupiter in its own sign giving her immeasurable gains.

Ketu ruling 4th and 5th (Scorpio and Sagittarius) for the Leo Ascendant is in her 3rd house of the performing arts. The dispositor is Venus in the 4th together with the debilitated Moon in the house of kingship. Moon gets a Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga by being aspected by Mars, the sign which the Moon is debilitated and placed in. Moon is angular and so is Mars. It is a very good Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga by virtue of the fact that Mars is powerful in itself by virute of its exchange with the Sun as explained earlier.

Saturn in Pisces in the 8th gives Vipareet Raja Yoga as Saturn rules the 6th and 7th for a Leo Ascendant. Her 7th house affairs are spoilt (I suspect there is a slight tension between herself and her husband) but the co-ruler of Aquarius which is Rahu is with Sun in the 9th and since there is one other planet with Rahu and Saturn stands alone, Rahu is more powerful as a co-ruler of Aquarius in her chart.

What a fantastic D-11.

An exchange also exists between the 3rd and 4th house. This makes Venus, the weakes planet after saturn in her D-11 strong.

Saturn is strong by getting a full aspect of Mars.

Hi

Drinking and eating is another aspect of life that can be quite difficult to analyse in a chart.

2nd house deals with the ingestion of food itself, the kind of things you put into the mouth. It also deals with the mastication of the food ie. the breaking down of food into food pariticles or making it into a bolus for swallowing.

3rd house which is the 2nd of the 2nd, deals with the utensils that help to lift the food from the plate and place it into your mouth to start the process of ingestion. Specifically Jupiter is the karaka for that as explained in the article in Jataka Rajeyam published by Saptarishis Magazine.

6th house is the future of the 2nd house and deals with halfway while eating ie. while you are in the midst of eating what are the kinds of behaviur you exhbit eg. are you sloppish spilling food all over your shirt or you eat with style knowing all the prcedures of eating as practised by different cultures like Western dining, tea cermony or you take only small morsels chewing your food assiduously or you can be rambunctious and hardly even bite your food etc.

7th house is the 6th of the 2nd and deals with the expansion of the concept of eating. So it rules all the emotions that come with the eating of delicious food, including enjoying the accompanying ambience where you are partaking the food.

8th house is the 7th of the 2nd and it comes with the memories (fond or otherwise) of partaking of a feast, banquet or a sharing of meagre resources round the family table (2nd is the family and 8th is the 7th of the 2nd). People who have fond memories of eating usually have an accentuated and beneficial 8th house. Most of us do not have this luxury as the 8th house is the most malefic house in the chart.

Hi

Next observation .........

Is it good to have the mahadasa and antardasa of two respective planets which are in a 12th-2nd position relative to each other in a chart?

This is the only time when which planet is the mahadasa and which planet is the antardasa really makes a difference.

It is DEFINITELY MUCH BETTER that the the planet A which is 12th from the other planet B to be the mahadasa planet and planet B to be the antardasa planet. Why?

This is because planet B is 2nd from planet A. It would serve to support planet A provided planet B is beneficial like being a natural benefic or planet B is in a good house and well placed by sign or planet B receives good aspects from beneficial planets in the chart etc.

However, if planet B is the mahadasa planet and planet A is the antardsasa planet, that is not always bad either. If planet A is really GOOD AND POWERFUL, planet B can gain much with much effort on the native's part as planet A which sits 12th from planet B is something like a karmic given for planet B to operate in this current lifetime. 12th of a house is something like a karmic given to that house.

But overall, it is in general better to have planet A as the Mahadasa and planet B as the antardasa under most conditions.

Hi

Next insight......

I have explained in an earlier post why Jupiter is exalted in Aquarius. This is because classics say when Jupiter is in Aquarius it is like having Moon in Cancer. Now Aquarius is 8th to the sign Cancer and provides the spark to the sign Cancer when the person is born ie. any planets in Aquarius leaves an imprint on any planets in the sign Cancer or even Cancer itself. And Jupiter is exalted in Cancer. Therefore Jupiter is exalted in Aquarius.

Let's extend the principle above looking from the other way round.

If a sign is strong eg. many planets there and preferably (but not necessary) a planet exalted or ruling that sign is placed in that sign, then whatever planets are placed in the 8th from that sign, is brought to the fore to that sign.

For example again let's take Cancer. Let's say like in my Rasi chart Venu and Rahu is there and it gets aspects from quite a sizable number of other planets onto it or it disposits these other planets in the chart. So my Venus and Rahu in Cancer in the ascendant is considered strong. Also Cancer is strong by virtue of being the rising sign. Now my Jupiter is in Aquarius (already strong by being exalted as explained earlier) which is 8th from the sign Cancer. Because of my strong Cancer sign, it is as if Jupiter is placed there - more so than if the sign Cancer is not strong in the chart. Hence there is a very strong presence of Jupiter in Cancer in my chart.

Hi

Next insight ......

Kendrapathi Dosa applies to Moon and Venus for all 4 quadrants.

For Mercury and Jupiter, if they rule BOTH 7th and 10th, Kendrapathi Dosa is a minimum because 7th has a war-like nature and 10th is the 5th to the 6th. Also Mercury and Jupiter are planets with some fire in them.

For the 1st, Kendrapathi Dosa is also at a minimum for Mercury and Jupiter. Mercury rules intelligence and Jupiter wisdom which prevents oneself from damaging one's honour, and these attributes are enhanced if they rule the 1st. They are also digbala here meaning they are king-like and they put their interests here first before others generally.

Kendrapathi Dosa applies if Mercury and Jupiter rules the 4th.

Note that Kendrapathi Dosa for that kendra house is annulled if the natural benefic is in its own sign in that house. When the master is in his own home, even if he is a soft person, mischief by outsiders would be at a minimum.

It is interesting to note that if a fixed sign is rising and Venus is placed in Taurus, the person is kind (Venus in Taurus in kendra) but his advantage cannot be taken off because the other three kendras are lorded by natural malefics. If these natural malefics turn out to be in their own sign as well, it leads to disavantage to the person (ie. the natural malefics regain their maleficity) as he may be go overboard in protecting his self interests in the context of discussion of Kendrapathi Dosa.

Association with trinal lords by natural benefics ruling kendras also annul kendrapathi dosa since trinal lords prevent that kendra house from being attacked by oustiders ie. spiritual protection rather than protection through might as when natural malefics rule the kendra.

The above is the interpretation of Kendrapathi Dosa.

In fact one of the classics has defined a Raja Yoga meant for fixed signs rising. Of course there other conditions related to the said Raja Yoga. But the reason for the need for the framework of a fixed sign rising for this Raja Yoga, I guess the reason could be because of what I said above.

Hi

Some interesting observation ..............

We know that Mars is the private investigator and always on the alert. Sun and Moon are in the midst of court politics and basking in the limelight. Jupiter is in his temple reciting mantras unaware of anything around him that is insignificant like back biting, passing mean remarks to others etc. Saturn is too busy carrying out menial tasks in the palace grounds.

That leaves only Mercury and Venus. Mercury the little prince is always creating ruckus, testing out the political concepts which his father and mother Sun and Moon taught him (actually in Vedic Astrology Moon is the father of Mercury, all planets in Vedic Astrology are male but this is a small point. Mercury stays close to the Sun so Sun can be considered his overlord). Venus the courtesan is always edging Mercury to fulfill her inner ambitions in the court.

It is no wonder that Generation Y and Generation Z people (the current young working adults) with Pluto in sidereal Virgo and sidereal Libra ruled by Mercury and Venus respectively, who is always on the lookout in the environment, sensing with their feelers, serving willingly the older generation so that they can make a nest egg for themselves and yet because they are not the official court personnel (one is a Prince and the other a mistress of the King), all these vigilance is more of an informal sort, mostly for the betterment of themselves. Mercury, the Prince, if related to Dharmic Houses of 1st, 5th or 9th, can give a more authoritative Prince however, Venus, the courtesan if propelled to the court inner circle ie. Venus related to the 10th house of career, can give a powerful leader (the courtesan does not want to go back to her former status as a mistress of the King).

Mercury and Venus personnel are Rajastic planets, the go-getters.

Although Mercury and Venus are arch enemeies of Jupiter, their morality, ethics and priciples are certainly enhanced if they get a trine from Jupiter. The 9th to Jupiter would be more powerful than the 5th of Jupiter according to Jataka Rajeeyam.

Hi

Let's take a look at my astrological prowess from the D-11. D-11 being the final outcomes chart, is a very revealing chart.

All my Moksha Houses are tenated by the trinal lords in their own signs! This is as good as it gets. The planets are Venus in Taurus in the 4th, Mercury in Virgo in the 8th and Saturn in Capricorn in the 12th. 4th is the house of traiditional (scriptural) knowledge, 8th is the house of astrological first principles and 12th is the house of occult science (12th is the 6th of the 7th and 7th is regarded something like a PhD Education, so 12th being an occult house would govern the whole of occult knowledge).

Jupiter ruling 11th (house of detailed knowledge) and 2nd (house of the Vedas) conjuncts Saturn and trining both Mercury and Venus. Mercury and Venus thus benefits from Jupiter trine and Jupiter gets a Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga by Saturn and is trining Moon and Moon is angular to the Ascendant of D-11. Even without Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga, Jupiter conjunct Saturn usually implies the fortification by Saturn in the house where Jupiter is placed - Jupiter is usually weak in its effects where it is placed.

The Moon a prime consideration for acquisition of knowledge being the ruler of the mind, conjuncts Venus. It rules the 6th house. In any nativity chart, the 6th house for the acquisition of knowledge is important as the natural karakas for the 6th is Mercury for discrimination and Mars for the desire to know. Moon exalted in its enemy sign would ensure that the harmful effects of the 6th house would be kept in check.

The 5th house of mantras and advanced Vedic knowledge (knowledge built upon the writings of practising Vedic Astrologers of the 3rd) has Rahu there in Gemini in its own sign. It rules the Ascendant Aquarius which has A11 there and in turn it can be considered as another Mercury since it is in Gemini, Mercury's sign. So Mercury in the 8th is doubly emphasised and Mercury is ruler and exalted in Virgo.

The 11th house of detailed knowledge has Mars and Ketu there (joint ruler of Scorpio, the occult sign) and posited in Jupiter (a prophesizing sign). They are in turn disposited by Jupiter the wisdom planet. Mars also disposits Sun in the 3rd and the Sun is a general knowledge planet (Saturn is also a general knowledge planet but more of an inscriber, Sun gives a person wide reading and understanding of all sources of knowledge). Scorpio has A2 there (for Vedas knowledge) and in the 10th (perfection) which is disposited by Mars and Ketu, and they are in turn surrounded by AL, A5, A9 and A7. A7 is for very advanced knowledge.

A4 is in 4th, A8 is in 8th and UL (A12) is in 12th. The Arudhas of the Mokshas are in their own respective Moksha houses (use K N Rao's for no exceptions option when calculating Arudha Bhavas). The Moksha houses are TREBLY strong.

A3 in the 7th house fortifies the 7th because 3rd is the 9th of the 7th. Sun rules the 7th which in turn is disposited by Mars as we have already mentioned.

Last but not least Jupiter conjuncting Saturn (a philsophical combination which can lead to higher thoughts) opposes the 6th which helps the mind again (Cancer is on the 6th house cusp). Saturn alone in fact having anything to do with the 6th, always confer knowledge by your pitrus, your forefathers. In that sense your knowledge is bounded, so I would even gain more knowledge if I wer to leave Singapore (my place of birth) and go overseas to practise Vedic Astrology.

I am borned to gain knowledge of a spiritual nature!!

I have mentioned that D-11 is the final outcomes chart. So it should operate throughout life. As Sanjay Rath said, everytime a planet operates its dasha, the person gains (but actually the appropriate word should be "feels") the effects of the houses ruled by the planet in D-11.

It is as if once we are borned on this Earth, our journey to Moksha is nearing its end unlike when we are in the mother's womb as a foetus or ine process of being delivered (the unit of time as seen from the heavens is quite different from the unit of time as seen from Earth).

Nevertheless it is only during the 2nd half of life that the effect is more pronounced because we are mature and we are able to tap our experiences in our 1st half of our life, in making the outcomes more pronounced in our life.

Hi

Next insight .......

Things that we enjoy doing ie. hobbies is governed by the 5th house. The natural ruler of the 5th is the Sun and a strong Jupiter with good moral values, ethics, broad vision etc. can impart to the Sun the power to pursue those activities which make the native feels alive, feels good. The Sun basically rides in his chariot across the heavens the whole day with nothing to do but just doing those things that make him come alive.

Also the 5th house has been considered as a wealth house. Why is that (aside from the fact that it is the 9th of the 9th - but remember, it is not a dawn of fortune house)?

What you enjoy doing, you do it well, and you do it again and again. The 5th house in the Rasi shows your creativity and talent just like the Navamsa chart (5th is a secondary karya house in Navamsa). When you do the activities again and again, it becomes a habitual routine and it becomes a means of earning a living (the 5th is serving the 2nd house being the 4th to the 2nd). And we know the 2nd is a wealth house as well.

There is a difference between the 5th and the 11th, however. 11th is something like an ad-hoc task which you do, which overtime you gain the necessary expertise. It is the 6th of the 6th. This is unlike the 5th which is the 12th of the 6th where the understanding is not to tackle the task as work, but to tackle the task as a hobby.

A person who has a storng 11th house but weak 5th house has to go out to work to gain the necessary expertise. The person with a strong 5th house, if the task allows, can start working from the home immediately! This is also synonymous with good speculative power and thus the person can indulge in buying and selling of stocks on a speculative basis.

But of course the greatest fortune is made when one combine working with our inner talents and also gathering expertise from the outside world. This is signified by the 9th house since the 9th is the 5th to the 5th and also the 11th to the 11th.

Now let's look at my D-11. Venus in Taurus in the 4th is ruling the 9th house. How does this tie in with what we have discussed about the 5th, 9th and the 11th?

Now we know that the 9th house has elements of both the 5th and the 11th as I have just mentioned. The 4th is the 12th to the 5th which means it is one step better - you do not even have to use your inner talents to get by if it is well placed. The 4th is the 5th to the 12th so it is the future of good past karma (if the 12th is also well placed) which externalises as good living by heritage. 9th rules the father and 4th rules the mother also. This shows my father and my mother has actually gained much fortune through expertise and inner talents (they are good experienced teachers). And they happen to be my parents!!

Hi

More than any other attributes, the natural ruler of a house determines how the functional ruler of the house get its means of livelihood. The natural ruler of each of the house is :

1st - Mars

Here the person normally works under the service of a king eg. personal bodyguard, chef for the head of department of food and beverages, a fighting soldier in the field working for his Commander in Chief of his infantry unit etc.

2nd - Venus

The person gets an allowance from the service he performed day to day eg. personal banker, a cook (as opposed to a chef), a personal servant like a butler (3rd rules servants according to BPHS besides the 6th, so 2nd which is the 12th to the 3rd rules something like a personal servant), personal assistant, a personal financial consultant etc.

3rd - Mercury and Rahu

A door to door salesman as opposed to a retail salesman (3rd is the 10th to the 6th so it means the job has something of having more freedom, the person for example can travel about), all the professions involving teaching, selling, promoting, bookkeeper (something routine and requiring actions like posting of journal entries unlike a financial accountant which is the 8th, or a management accountant which is the 6th), a market researcher (collector of data which is a characteristic of the 3rd), an impersonator (because of Rahu's influence) etc.

4th - Moon

A civil servant heading a department, someone who does not have to work but given an allowance, a sailor (you get paid whether you are on the sea or not), a matron of a ward, a general civil servant of executive rank, a kindergarten school teacher (she gets paid from the budget allocated by the Ministry of Education), the beneficiary of an annuity etc.

5th - Sun

A stock speculator (the Sun likes to gamble as indicated by Astroboy), authorship (as opposed to writing in the 3rd), someone who advises on mantras (Sun has depthos of various knowledge but spiritual knowledge as well), managing director (more often than not he is the owner of the company), a Minister (he answers to the government machinery which is also the 5th), an entrepreneur (unlike the businessman of the 7th, an entrepreneur is his own boss even if he partners with several people, for example he can own more than 50% of the shares of a company) etc.

6th - Mercury

A management accountant, a systems analyst, market research analyst, critique for various things like fashion, worker in the manufacturing shop floor, someone who is tied to some routine procedure in earning a living unlike the 3rd where the actions have more initiative in nature, stock analyst like assessing of which stocks are blue chips etc.

To be contined......

Continue......

7th - Venus

Businessman where he has to work closely with at least one partner, arbitrator, conciliator, fashion designer(related to the masses which comes under the 7th), fashion hairdresser (Saturn exalted here and Saturn rules hair), public relations, diplomat (Venus is watery planet and rules travel but of a diplomatic nature, the travel that is), a personal mascot of something (7th if properly handled promotes the Lagna), restaurant business (7th has to do with ambience setting and this is determined by the restaurant including how the food is served, the theme of the food etc.), foreign correspondent (something like a public relationist) etc.

8th - Mars and Ketu

Astrologer, soldier that is in the infantry support side rather than the arms infantry, financial accountant, insurance agent, lawyer dealing with the estate of the deceased, a priest that helpts the dead to go smoothly to the other world or even to call them in a seance, private investigate, police or any personnel that ensure law and order (8th is the 12th of the 9th and the codification of law of the 9th is completely bypassed, those are only for lawyers), a military or marketing or whatever strategist (Lagna is the 6th to the 8th where personal combat or the first action begins) etc.

9th - Jupiter and Ketu

A soothsayer, a lawyer, foreign import and export business overseas and not within a nation, world wide espionage, a lecturer in the University (where ideas and cultures are exchanged besides teaching the curriculum), international finance, foreign relations and not just a foreign diplomat in a country which is the 7th, international logistics (Jupiter rules the networks that help in this aspect of business), a high priest performing rituals (ritual is something like philosophy, you go through the ceremony), a general philosopher tying spiritual and non-spiritual matters together etc.

10th - Saturn

Work requires personal accountability and responsiblity even though you may delegate it, work that benefits society and hence has an impact on the reputation of a person, work requiring intense supervision of workers, work requires lots of commitment and not just strenous of effort which is the 8th, work that is laborious but satisfying (unlike the 6th which is only laborious), work that requires achieving certain milestones along the way etc.

11th - Saturn and Rahu

Work requiring sitting in various committees, work with gains and profits in sight after much labour eg. achieving of certain targets as in certain sales which is why 11th is the 9th to the 3rd, ad-hoc jobs that pay for effort put in (and not for charisma or by a stroke of luck), work requirng some daring actions which may be out of the norms of society, breakthough work that has an impact on society and may even result in the collapse of the older society in which how things are done tec.

12th - Jupiter and Ketu

Behind the scenes advisor of all sorts, espionage of a very secretive nature, counsellor that goes right to the psychological depths of the person (unlike the 6th), a person good in occult science, films industry of the documentary and short films sort, or films that impart a moral message (12th is the 10th to the 3rd of performing arts), working in an ocean liner or tanker unlike sailors which is the 4th (if you have no voyage in the ocean liner or tanker, you are gnerally not paid), any work relating to the temple etc.

Note that the 12th house has connotation of the person subsisting on donations or alms given like work involving the temple.

Often one can read two houses at a time to see which livelihood to choose from, one house being the 2nd to the other house.

Now for me, my D-11 has an Aquarian Ascendant, so the best two planets are Rahu and Venus, both Yogakaraka, Venus ruling 4th and 9th, and Rahu ruling 1st and 5th with Rahu taking on the nature of the ruler of the 5th since it is placed there.

It so happens Venus is in 4th and Rahu is in 5th which is 2nd to the 4th. So read the 4th and 5th together.

5th denotes authorship - one kind of livelihood possible. 4th has Venus ruling 4th and 9th and Moon ruling 6th. Therefore authoriship (5th) in books on critiques (6th) or discrimination (6th) in matters say philosophy (the 9th), international finance (9th), international human resources (Libra on 9th) etc. are possible avenues for growth.

Note that authorship of the 5th need not just be writing. It can be fashion, cooking etc. But in my case the 5th happens to be Gemin which denotes writing. It is connected to sales also.

So sign consideration is necessary for delineation as well.
