You are correct that this time is needed to reconcile and think. But looking at your suggestion, and trying to understand in simple language are you trying to say that this relationship needs to be saved.

I dont want to stay in this marriage because the in laws behavior is really torturous.
I have filed for divorce and due to covid situations everything is slow.
